Crude oil prices fall overnight

Crude oil prices fell sharply overnight, dropping to nearly $69 per barrel after equities on Wall Street plunged Thursday.

The Dow Jones industrial average lost 203 points in a general sell-off that marked its steepest one-day drop since July.

Crude oil stayed within the pricing pattern of the past month, dropping $1.72 to $69.10 per barrel Friday. Heating oil prices lost 0.0466 cents to $1.7808 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices lost 0.042 cents to $1.7159 per gallon. Natural gas prices lost 0.054 cents to $4.412 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price for unleaded gasoline was $2.465 per gallon Friday, down from Thursday's $2.469, AAA said.
