Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry Extends Application Period for Weatherization Training Provider Grants; New Deadline is Oct. 16
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Department of Labor & Industry today extended the application deadline for as many as seven $150,000 grants available to prospective training providers of home weatherization products and installers, crew chiefs and auditors. Oct. 16 is the new deadline to apply for the funding provided through the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The department is seeking up to seven providers to ensure adequate training resources are available to meet the demand for skilled weatherization workers throughout the state. The search is part of a joint effort by the departments of Labor & Industry and Community and Economic Development to develop a Weatherization Assistance Program training plan.
The purpose of the plan is to identify, train and certify Pennsylvania workers to complete significant and high-quality energy reduction, conservation and weatherization activities in approximately 29,000 single and multi-family homes across Pennsylvania.
Sixty prospective applicants participated in a recent online webinar, which included Weatherization Assistance Training Program information and the necessary grant application materials.
