ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Oce Business Services, an international leader in document process management technology and services, will highlight its records management solutions at the ARMA International Conference & Expo. The company will also address topics covered at the show that include paper and electronic records, compliance, document imaging, and records management best practices.

At this year's conference, taking place October 15 - 18 at the Orlando World Center Marriott, experts from Oce will be on hand to help organizations and records management professionals better understand the challenges they face in safely navigating the evolving records landscape.

Scheduled presentations by Oce executives include the following:

  • Robert Milburn, Esq., Director of Discovery Solutions, Oce Business Services, and Jean Ciura, Ph.D., ermM, CRM, President, JMC Management Consulting, will co-facilitate an Education Session on developing a legal hold strategy (October 15th, 8:00 - 9:30 AM, room Crystal H). The session will spotlight topics that include identifying the components of a compliant legal hold program, becoming conversant on recent trends in the law and practice of electronic discovery, and exploring technology and process solutions for all phases of the EDRM model.
  • Cheryl Young, CDIA+, Records and Information Solutions Architect, Oce Business Services, will participate as a panelist in an Exclusively IT Session moderated by Debra Logan, Vice President, Gartner Research (October 15th, 2:00 - 3:15 PM, Expo Floor, room 1230). This session will focus on the topic: "Outsourcing Electronic Records Storage and Disposition: What to Consider with an Outside Provider."

Executives at the Oce Business Services' booth will be on hand to discuss findings of the company's recent survey that details how organizations are leveraging document management strategies to meet current economic challenges. The survey report, "Meeting the Challenge: How Organizations are Implementing Document Management Strategies to Help Drive Business in a Tough Economy," explores document imaging, enterprise-wide print/copy, mail and shipping, records management, and fleet management (print/copy/fax fleet).

Among the key findings:

  1. The outsourcing option. When it comes to outsourcing, a high number of respondents (74%) indicate that their company is taking this approach with at least one of the five document activities. The top three document management activities that companies are outsourcing include mail and shipping, print/copy center and document imaging.
  2. The imaging advantage. Document imaging (paper to digital conversion) is seen as having a high impact across the greatest range of top business goals that include reducing costs and improving customer service. Executives report that their organizations have implemented document imaging in key functional areas such as general administrative (e.g. accounting) and core business processes (e.g. new customer applications).
  3. The measurement opportunity. A slim majority (55%) of survey participants indicate that their organizations are measuring document process performance, with the highest number of organizations measuring user activity and document processing timeliness. Of those organizations that do measure performance, only 24% utilize state-of-the-art systems for data analysis and reporting. These findings suggest that a substantial opportunity exists for companies to implement or upgrade to new reporting systems such as Oce MAX, which can enable them to improve document management processes and reap solid operational gains.
