Pilot Strike Cripples S.Korea Air Service

South Korea's air services were disrupted Monday when unionized pilots of Asiana Airlines staged a strike for a second day.
Asiana said 81 of its 168 domestic passenger flights, and four of seven cargo flights, were cancelled Monday. It also suspended its international routes from Seoul to Sydney.
More disruptions are likely as there are no signs of a major breakthrough in the labor dispute.
Some 300 striking pilots from South Korea's second-largest carrier gathered to call for the company to accept their demands.
The indefinite strike began at noon Sunday after last-minute negotiations with airline management fell through.
The pilots' union is demanding that hours of movement between flights be counted into flight rosters. Other key demands include raising the mandatory retirement age to 58 and union members' participation in decisions concerning company promotions and disciplinary actions.
Twenty-six pilots from the country's largest airline, Korean Air, launched a walkout to support striking Asiana pilots.
