Community Management Concepts in Clearwater, Florida Helps Clean Up With Florida's Adopt-a-Mile Program

Posted on: Tuesday, 3 November 2009, 12:39 CST

CLEARWATER, Fla., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Management Concepts, Inc. (CMC), an Associa Company in Clearwater, FL, recently announced the adoption of a one mile stretch of Florida road as part of a partnership with Keep Pinellas Beautiful, Inc., the Florida Adopt-a-Mile program and the national Associa Eco Resource Recovery Operation (AERO) program. The one-mile section CMC "adopted" will be cleared of litter waste at least four times a year through volunteer hours from CMC employees.

The Florida Adopt-a-Mile Program is a cooperative partnership between the public/private sector and Pinellas County. It is a program that allows individuals and/or groups to participate in community involvement through the "adoption" of a one mile section of county road. Participants agree to a two year commitment to clean a one mile section of Florida road at least four times a year. Road adoptions greatly enhance the appearance of our roads and go a long way to reducing the debris from entering our beautiful Florida waterways and polluting the natural habitats of our native wildlife.

CMC employees had their first clean up day on October 24, 2009. Thirteen employees helped pick up trash and debris from the road side, collecting 13 bags of trash. CMC employees were proud to be helping the Pinellas County community and improving the area.

AERO is Associa's national initiative to bring environmentally conscious "green" practices to local offices, employees and managed communities. Local branches such as CMC are encouraged to develop local AERO programs and promote recycling, energy conservation and other environmentally conscious efforts like Adopt-a-Mile programs. Associa, through AERO, provides "green" information to employees interested in improving personal environmental awareness and helpful tools and resources to assist community associations in being more eco-friendly through the use of environmentally conscious products and services.
