ZoomSafer Invited to Partake in FCC Workshop Addressing Distracted Driving
WASHINGTON, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ — According to reports from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2008 alone, distracted drivers injured over five hundred thousand and killed more than five thousand people in the 1.1 million accidents they caused. Cellular phones and other mobile communication devices are recognized as one of the major causes of distracted driving accidents, something ZoomSafer, the leading provider of innovative solutions to prevent distracted driving will be working with the Federal Communications Commission and other participants to change.
The FCC will be hosting a distracted driving workshop on Friday, November 20, 2009, at FCC Headquarters at 9:00 a.m. bringing together industry experts, members of government and the public to discuss potential resolutions for distracted driving. In support of the workshop ZoomSafer has been invited to discuss its innovative software that promotes safe and legal use of mobile phones while driving.
“We are truly honored and grateful that the FCC has invited us to participate in their distracted driving workshop,” said ZoomSafer co-founder Matt Howard. “We provide simple solutions that encourage legal and productive use of mobile phones while driving and simultaneously eliminate dangerous behaviors such as texting and emailing from behind the wheel. Knowing that others, including our nation’s leaders, are taking this problem seriously gives us hope that together we will be able to make our roads a safer place.”
