AERC.com, Inc. Recycles Over 45,000 Pounds of Electronic Waste at the Energy Corridor District Electronics Recycling Collection Event in Houston
FLANDERS, N.J., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ – AERC.com, Inc. (AERC Recycling Solutions) hosted its first Electronics Recycling Collection Event on November 7 in conjunction with the Energy Corridor District in Houston, TX, which includes companies such as British Petroleum, ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil and Shell Oil. The event was open to employees of all the companies represented by the Energy Corridor District and the outlining community. A total of 45,157 pounds of end-of-life electronics were collected for recycling during a six hour event.
Collected materials included computers, keyboards, televisions, modems, fax machines, printers, scanners, handheld games, telephones, cell phones, cameras, pagers, VCRs, tape decks, CD players, movie projectors, tape recorders, radios, and other electronic products. All collected equipment was processed at AERC’s electronics de-manufacturing facility in Houston according to a Zero-Waste-to-Landfill Policy. The equipment is remarketed or returned to the appropriate commodity materials streams for use in the manufacturing of other products. AERC maintains a strict policy on all data storage devices. All information on data storage devices, such as hard drives and cell phones, is completely destroyed.
