OWINGS MILLS, Md., March 23 /PRNewswire/ — ASTIC Signals Defenses (ASD), the world’s leading provider of high attenuating radio frequency and infrared, optically clear, substrates for electronic eavesdropping mitigation has teamed with LTI Smart Glass Inc. (LTI – Pittsfield MA), to enhance Signals Defenses® (SD) product benefits to include a “switchable” visual deterrent capability, ballistic rated glazing systems, and containment/forced entry laminate sheets.

SD Switchable Privacy Glass electronically switches from opaque white to transparent or can be dimmed as required. SD UL Bullet Resistant windows utilize Bayer Material Science’s MAKROLON® sheets with LTI’s fabrication techniques to meet level 3, 5 or 8 with excellent visual characteristics. SD Forced Entry Panels also use MAKROLON® tested to ASTM F1915, ASTM F1233 and HPW TP 0500. Forced Entry Panel applications include jails, detention centers, psychiatric hospitals, etc.

“Our US Government clients’ requirements are driving these enhancements to the SD Product Line,” says Ron Waranowski, ASD’s Managing Director. “Working with LTI allows us to realize the ultimate security window: US Department of Defense strength electronic eavesdropping protection; switchable from opaque to transparent; Ballistic rated to a determined UL Level; and extreme energy efficiency all in a single window system.” SD Products are available on GSA Schedule 84 GS-07F-0117M and on display GOVSEC/U.S. Law 2010, booth 834, at the Washington D.C. Convention center, 10AM to 4PM, March 23rd and 24th.
