GAITHERSBURG, Md., April 30 /PRNewswire/ — Second Chance Wildlife Center today announced that it is entering the eBay Fundraising Tournament for the Environment in hopes of raising badly needed funds. Like many businesses and non-profits, the current economic environment has brought challenging times to Second Chance, which depends on grants and donations from the public to fund its operations.

“We need the funds and are appealing to the public we serve to vote for us,” said Frank Howard, Member of the Board of Directors at Second Chance Wildlife Center. “Anyone anywhere who supports wildlife and wildlife rehab can vote for us, not just the people who live here in the DC/Baltimore Region.” Funds are needed for refurbishing dilapidated outdoor cages, rent, food and medicine for the animals, and other necessities.

eBay generously seeded the contest with $50,000 and that amount can grow during the contest, which runs from April 22 to June 22. While not required, “voters” can also donate money directly to their favorite non-profit in addition to voting. Humanity Calls is running the Tournament.

Voting is free and is accomplished by going to this webpage: www.humanitycalls.org/HumanityCalls/OrganizationProfileView.action?id=174

Or go to http://www.humanitycalls.org and click on “Browse All 110 Incredible Nonprofits” and select Second Chance Wildlife Center.
