Will You Prosper From Marcellus Shale?

May 3, 2010

PITTSBURGH, May 3 /PRNewswire/ —

Event: Pittsburgh Enterprise Forum I S S U E F O R U M:

Date: Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Format: Presentation, Panel Discussion & Audience Participation

With a rebounding economy pushing energy prices up, and with new technologies for advanced drilling and fracturing creating more efficient techniques for extraction, there is renewed interest in the giant, 575-mile Marcellus Shale bed of natural gas that runs between New York State through Pennsylvania and West Virginia. One study estimates that there is 500 trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas in the field, more than the U.S. produces (about 30 trillion cubic feet) annually.

That’s a lot of energy to be harnessed and a lot of economic activity to be generated — and with it, real opportunities for Western Pennsylvania entrepreneurs and investors to find success serving the energy industry and its myriad of spinoffs.

The questions we’d like to ask are simple: Who will prosper as Marcellus Shale extraction revs up — and how?

Will it be you?

Join us as we gather a group of experts from the mining industry, government, universities and business to delve into the promises — and, yes, the obstacles — now before regional entrepreneurs and investors as Pennsylvania gets serious about its energy riches.

Our moderators will be State Representative Brian Ellis, co-chairman of the Pennsylvania House Natural Gas Caucus and whose Butler County district includes portions of the Marcellus Shale field, and Katie Klaber, President, Marcellus Shale Coalition. Others also will help us understand the complexities of mining and its impact on Pennsylvania. And as always with Enterprise Forum events, audience interaction will be encouraged — we want to hear from you.

Marcellus Shale is about more than natural gas. It’s also about economic revitalization on a huge scale.

Come learn how to put it to work for you.
