Airberlin and oneworld

LONDON, July 27, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Air Berlin PLC announces
that its 100% subsidiary Air Berlin PLC & Co. Luftverkehrs KG (“Air Berlin”)
has on 26 July 2010 agreed with oneworld Management Company Ltd. on key
aspects of Air Berlin’s membership in the oneworld Alliance. Under the
sponsorship of British Airways Plc, which is a founding member of oneworld
Alliance Air Berlin, will work towards completing a full membership agreement
with oneworld. Membership in oneworld would strengthen Air Berlin’s
competitive position and enable it to participate in the alliance’s revenue
enhancement and cost reduc-tion activities.

Furthermore, Air Berlin PLC announces, that Air Berlin has entered into
agreements on strategic cooperation, so called code-share agreements, with
American Airlines, Inc. and Finnair Plc today. These agreements shall allow
Air Berlin to offer tickets for code-share flights as of 1 November 2010 to
fifteen (15) additional destinations in the United States of America and two
on the Bahamas which are operated by American Airlines, Inc. as well as for
code-share flights with Finnair Plc to Helsinki, within Europe and to Asia.
The implementation of these agreements is subject to all necessary regulatory
approvals.
