HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Schedules, registration information, rules, and animal health requirements for the 2011 Pennsylvania Farm Show are now available in the 2011 Premium List, Agriculture Secretary Russell C. Redding said today.
The 2011 Farm Show will take place Saturday, Jan. 8 – Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.
Redding said the premium list is available at www.farmshow.state.pa.us by clicking the “’2011 Show” tab. The premium list includes registration deadlines for each department listed under the Table of Contents. Hard copies and payments can also be mailed to the Pennsylvania Farm Show, 2300 N. Exhibitors also can register and pay any applicable fees online through the show’s website.
“The Pennsylvania Farm Show is a one-of-a-kind showcase of the state’s finest products, technology and food our agriculture industry has to offer,” said Redding. “While the 2011 show will feature traditional events and displays, renovations to the complex coupled with a number of exciting new elements will enhance the Farm Show experience for visitors and exhibitors alike.”
Entries are free for craft, family living and commodity departments. Minimal fees are required for open show animal entries, as well as the horse and pony pulling contests.
“Contests are open to all ages and levels of experience, so we invite all Pennsylvanians to enter their best products in the competition,” said Redding.
In addition to the complex’s new layout, the 95th Farm Show will offer several new attractions including a “Parade of Agriculture” during the opening ceremonies, new commodity displays, and a live taping of the U.S. Farm Report during the show.
The event kicks off with the Farm Show Reception on Friday, Jan. 7, in the Exhibition Hall. Tickets will be available for the event in mid-November.
The Farm Show’s Got Talent contest is back for a second year. Slated for Sunday, Jan. 9, the contest features local contestants in vocal or instrumental acts.
