Energetiq Technology Named Finalist for 2010 Prism Award

Prism Awards are given annually by Photonics Media and SPIE to recognize innovation in photonics. Energetiq has been chosen for its innovative EQ-99 product.
The Energetiq EQ-99 LDLS(TM) Laser-Driven Light Source is a compact, highly stable source of broadband deep ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared light for analytical applications requiring ultra-long lamp life. Employing Energetiq’s patented laser-driven xenon plasma technology, the EQ-99 provides a single-light source solution for researchers and engineers who need much higher brightness broadband light, giving them a cost-effective alternative to purchasing and operating multiple lamps or lasers. The EQ-99 is a lower-cost option in Energetiq’s family of LDLS products and is ideal for use in spectroscopy, biological imaging, and general scientific research applications.
According to Photonics Media, the Prism Awards competition recognizes commercially viable photonics products that break conventional ideas, solve problems, and improve life through the generation and harnessing of light. Companies submit applications for the awards within nine different product categories. Entries are reviewed and finalists from each category are chosen by an independent panel of industry experts. Winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held in January during SPIE Photonics West 2011 in San Francisco.
