LifeBelt Officially Launches – Available for Holiday Delivery

November 24, 2010

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 24, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — Robert Allison, CEO of LifeBelt Inc. announced the official launch of LifeBelt (www.autolifebelt.com), the only safety device on the market that ensures drivers and passengers will wear their seat belts every time they drive. LifeBelt is an after-market safety product that, when installed, will prevent a car from starting unless the driver’s seat belt is secured. Once the car has started, if the driver or passenger disengages the seat belt, the radio volume will turn down and a 50db alarm will sound. Just in time for the holidays, LifeBelt is now available exclusively online at Safety Mom Direct www.safetymomdirect.com

According to statistics by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens, accounting for more than one in three deaths. Nearly 63% of people who die in car crashes were not wearing their seat belts. “Programs that penalize drivers for not wearing their seat belts don’t work, especially with teens. They’re still not getting the message that wearing a seat belt can save their life,” explains Allison. “With LifeBelt, parents no longer need to worry whether their teen driver is being honest with them — they can rest assured that they are indeed wearing their seat belt.” As Allison goes on to say, however, it’s not just teens that can benefit from LifeBelt. “We as parents need to lead by example. Too many of us think that we don’t need to wear our seat belt just driving down the street to the convenience store. The truth is that the majority of accidents happen less than ten miles away from our home. Not only is LifeBelt a safety device but it helps with behavior modification.”

LifeBelt also helps parents with toddlers who are in booster seats and might have figured out how to unfasten their seat belt. While mom is driving she might not be aware this has happened. With LifeBelt she’ll immediately hear an alarm that the seat belt has been unfastened.

A school fund-raising program has also been established so that schools and PTA’s can sell LifeBelt online and receive a percentage of each sale.
