Oil, Gas and Product Prices All Rise

Posted on: Thursday, 4 August 2005, 12:00 CDT

The price of high-quality crude oil for September delivery rose Thursday on the New York Mercantile Exchange about 33 cents to $61.19 per barrel.

Petroleum products and natural gas followed crude higher as well.

Gasoline climbed to $1.785 per gallon, and heating oil increased to $1.695 per gallon.

Natural gas was also up, to $8.358 per million Btu.

Traders cited the usual concerns for the increase: Worries about supply interruptions, weather in the Gulf of Mexico and anxiety about refinery repairs.
