Employee Attendance Tracking Goes Virtual

January 4, 2011

Expanded, enhanced TrackSmart.comTM leads trend toward online, cloud-based employee recordkeeping

Sunrise, FL (Vocus/PRWEB) January 03, 2011

First there were paper time sheets and calendars to keep track of days employees missed work. Information like date of hire, company holidays, and employee birthdays were kept in bulky folders. Then along came employee attendance software, and suddenly the paper forms became digital records stored on a PC in the HR department or the manager’s office. But with a growing number of employees working remotely or telecommuting, a single location for recordkeeping has become impractical, as well.

A new approach introduced in October

Now, websites like TrackSmart.comTM from HRdirect are leading the way toward virtual employee attendance tracking and employee recordkeeping, making records available for secure review or updating anytime, anywhere there’s an Internet connection.

This past October, HRdirect introduced TrackSmart.com, a free online employee attendance tracking solution. No software to download, no cumbersome spreadsheets to master. The “free and easy” online application allows small businesses to record and track employee attendance information for up to 20 employees.

Online employee attendance tracking takes the next step today – track more employees, use additional features

In response to user feedback and requests, HRdirect is pleased to announce the release of new expanded options on TrackSmart.com to help even more small and medium-sized businesses document and properly classify employee attendance and absences.

The new version of TrackSmart.com, released in mid-December, offers businesses the ability to track employee attendance for up to 100 employees. It also offers additional categories of absences, and new enhanced reporting capabilities, to help employers track employee attendance online.

Still simple to use and online

TrackSmart.com remains a simple, online solution which does not require any software download. But the latest release helps businesses who need to track more than the 20 employees allowed in the free edition. As with the original release, the new version of the tool allows small business employers to record and track employee absences and other information from any Internet-connected computer. The new, expanded service also continues to provide targeted employee attendance advice and information, based upon the types of absences and absence patterns, making it easy for small business owners and managers to address employee attendance problems quickly.

TrackSmart.com basic edition remains free for up to 20 employees

TrackSmart.com will remain a free program for businesses with up to 20 active employees, with the newer, paid versions available for larger companies or those that need additional features, such as expanded absence codes, custom benefit years and enhanced reporting. Those who have already registered for the free version can upgrade without losing any of the data they’ve entered so far. New customers can sign up at http://www.tracksmart.com
