Engineering Firm Greenhorne & O’Mara Joins Energy Industry’s Marcellus Shale Coalition
LAUREL, Md., Jan. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Engineering consulting firm Greenhorne & O’Mara (G&O) has joined the energy industry’s Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC). G&O has provided energy-related services since its inception in 1950, and the new alliance with the MSC is an extension of G&O’s presence in the Marcellus Shale natural gas region. This region encompasses approximately 60 percent of Pennsylvania and substantial portions of West Virginia and New York.
G&O’s Director of Natural Gas and Energy Programs James R. Daley, PMP, said, “We are excited to be a part of the Marcellus Shale Coalition. The Marcellus Shale is one of numerous oil- and gas-bearing shales that will contribute to energy independence for the U.S., and it is near east coast cities with high natural gas demand. MSC member firms embrace and operate by guiding principles that address worker and community safety, environmental protection, continuous improvement of best practices, increased local hiring, good corporate citizenship, public communication and education, maximizing economic and energy-security benefits for all. G&O has provided transportation, environmental, and infrastructure and design services in this region for decades. Our employees live and work in the area, and we are invested in the wise development of this natural resource to produce clean energy and provide economic advantages for our citizens.”
G&O experts are serving on several MSC committees, which include Regulatory, Road Use, Public Relations, Membership, Supply Chain, and Midstream/Pipeline. G&O is also an active member of Pennsylvania Independent Oil & Gas Association, West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association, and the American Gas Association.
