April 7, 2011

BRANCHBURG, N.J., April 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Liberty Science Center (LSC) will honor Noveda Technologies and its president and CEO, Govi Rao, with the Distinguished Mission Advance Award. Noveda will be receiving the award at the Liberty Science Center’s 18th annual fundraising gala on April 8. The Distinguished Mission Advance Award is given in recognition of individuals and organizations whose exemplary commitment to a partnership has enabled a major advance in the scope and profile of learning experiences at Liberty Science Center.

The LSC fundraising gala is an annual event, with all gala proceeds to benefit LSC’s exhibitions and programs, which offer exceptional experiences for learners of all ages — onsite, offsite and online. LSC will also be honoring Dr. Jane Goodall, Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute & UN Messenger of Peace, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN Chief Medical Correspondent, with the Distinguished Humanitarian Awards.

“Since 2008, Noveda Technologies and Liberty Science Center have enjoyed a major cost-savings and green-minded partnership that connects the Center’s desire to achieve minimized facility operating costs with Noveda’s energy-savings technology,” said Emlyn Koster, president and CEO of Liberty Science Center. “Noveda and its leadership by Govi Rao are therefore a perfect fit for our Distinguished Mission Advance Award. More than ever, society needs to blur the boundaries between science and the public so that we can jointly seize progressive opportunities,” Dr. Koster noted.

Commenting on the award, Govi Rao, CEO of Noveda Technologies said, “We are proud to partner with the team at Liberty Science Center, as they raise the bar towards becoming a sustainable enterprise. The Center’s commitment to our environment is clear from initiatives like green roofs, wetland water and renewable energy. I am excited by the Center’s commitment to achieve and sustain behavior change towards conservation by raising awareness, and we are honored to be recognized for our efforts.” He added, “The sustained carbon reduction achieved by Liberty Science Center is remarkable and should provide inspiration for decision makers and consumers world-wide to adopt measurement methods and pay serious attention to resource efficiency.”
