Reynolds American Foundation Donates $100,000 for North Carolina Tornado Relief
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Reynolds American Inc. (NYSE: RAI) announced that the Reynolds American Foundation will donate $100,000 to the American Red Cross to help provide relief to victims of the multiple tornadoes that hit North Carolina on April 16.
“Our hearts go out to our fellow North Carolinians who have lost so much as a result of these devastating storms,” said Steve Strawsburg, president of the Reynolds American Foundation. “Our hope is that this donation will help in the rebuilding process as people begin to put their lives back together.”
Additionally, the Foundation plans to match, dollar for dollar, any tornado-relief contributions that employees of Reynolds American and its operating companies make to qualifying non-profit charitable public organizations, including the American Red Cross.
