Talenti® Gelato e Sorbetto Adds Sea Salt Caramel to Its Assortment of All-Natural, Artisanal Gelato Flavors; Announces Switch to Eco-Friendly Lids
DALLAS, May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Just in time for summer, Talenti® Gelato e Sorbetto releases Sea Salt Caramel as its newest artisanal gelato flavor, giving consumers even more reason to indulge in their favorite gelato. In addition, Talenti announces new, easily recyclable screw-on lids for all flavors.
As with all of its products, Talenti has put great care in sourcing the highest quality ingredients for its new gelato flavor. The Sea Salt Caramel features deliciously rich, golden Argentine caramel (dulce de leche) made exclusively for Talenti, complemented by the finest Fleur De Sel–the prized sea salt from France–and tiny chocolate-covered sea salt caramel truffles mixed in with every spoonful.
“The combination of sea salt and caramel has been a favorite amongst top French and American chefs for some time and has become a definite trend,” said Josh Hochschuler, Founder & CEO of Talenti® Gelato e Sorbetto. “We’re thrilled to introduce Talenti’s new Sea Salt Caramel gelato flavor, and we hope our customers will enjoy its perfect marriage of sweet and salty as much as we do.”
Offering a uniquely indulgent experience, Talenti’s Sea Salt Caramel gelato is not only delicious, but with about 30% less fat than regular ice cream, is also a healthier alternative. Using fresh milk free of growth hormones and fine pure cane sugar, the Sea Salt Caramel gelato continues to uphold Talenti’s commitment to providing all-natural, yet decadent frozen desserts.
Consumers can find this new flavor at major retailers nationwide at a suggested retail price of $4.99-$5.99.
In addition to its commitment to craftsmanship and sourcing quality ingredients, Talenti also strives to be eco-friendly and minimize its impact on the environment. To that effect, the company announces the implementation of recyclable High Density Polyethylene or #2 HDPE lids for all its flavors. These unique screw-on lids were created especially for Talenti’s matching #1 PET clear containers.
“Talenti is committed to embracing green business practices and finding new and innovative ways to minimize our impact on the environment,” said Steve Gill, President of Talenti. “Our new #2 HDPE lids are just the latest example of this longstanding dedication to eco-friendly practices.”
The company originally began with Polypropylene lids, another type of plastic resin. In an effort to continue its push for sustainability, Talenti has decided to switch to High Density Polyethylene, a resin that is easier to recycle. This implementation began rolling out across all Talenti products in the second quarter of 2011.
About Talenti® Gelato e Sorbetto
Talenti began as a gelato store and cafe in 2001 in Dallas, Texas and has since grown into the best-selling gelato brand in the country.
