EVTN Showcases Submersible Voraxial® at International Oil Spill Conference

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Enviro Voraxial Technology, Inc. (OTCBB: EVTN) announced today that the Company will demonstrate its new Submersible Voraxial Separator (booth #256) at the upcoming International Oil Spill Conference (IOSC2011) from 23-26 May 2011 in Portland, Oregon.

During the four day event, the US Coast Guard will present a technical paper titled “Designing A Submerged Oil Recovery System”. This innovative system, which includes the Voraxial Separator to process and separate the large volumes of captured oil and seawater, is designed to capture and treat oil spills that occur at the bottom of the sea floor. The new system is scheduled for testing in 2011.

The Submersible Voraxial is the core technology for a fleet of advanced oil skimmer/processor boats, envisioned by EVTN. These Voraxial equipped vessels will have the capacity to effectively contain and clean major oil spills. The compactness, light weight and low energy requirements of the Voraxial enables the Voraxial to be installed on new vessels or retrofitted on existing vessels for oil spill response. Additionally, similar to other auxiliary equipment on vessels such as firefighting hoses, the Voraxial’s small footprint allows it to be secured on vessels, such as tug boats or supply vessels, without interfering with the main function of the vessel. This capability is not demonstrated by equipment currently available for responding to major oil spills.

EVTN will display its Submersible Voraxial 4000 Separator, the same model included in BP’s RAT (“Rapid Attack Team”) Pack program for the Gulf oil spill. The RAT Pack is “a fleet of local commercial, shallow draft, nimble and fast moving vessels operating under the Vessels of Opportunity program” able to quickly respond to oil spills close to shore or in open seas. The Submersible Voraxial design is the only oil-water separator that can operate in the water to treat oil slicks. Further, the Submersible Voraxial can be lowered deep into the ocean to treat underwater oil spills and oil plumes.

Utilizing the Voraxial Separator enables skimming vessels to capture 10x more oil, a 1000% improvement in efficiency, by using a unique subsurface separation process that allows the separated, clean water to remain in the ocean. Additional efficiency increases are achieved due to the dynamic self pumping action of the Voraxial, its low energy requirements and its high efficiency separation capability.
