Information Operations Europe: Delivering Effects Through Influence Activity

LONDON, May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Information Operations Europe’s
agenda has been released and the main focus for this year will be the lessons
learned in Afghanistan, counter-piracy and HOA operations. In addition, the
UK MoD, French and US DoD strategic policy will also discussed by the most
senior personnel including ISAF’s Brigadier Iain Harrison, Director of
Influence and Outreach will deliver front line reports at the summit.

Furthermore, there will be numerous tactical and operational level
briefings that cover regions as diverse as Coastal Horn of Africa, the
Philippines, Afghanistan and Somalia, looking at topics such as Target
Audience Analysis, Measurement of Effect, community, key leader and female
engagement and message credibility.

Day 2 sees key decision-makers at the strategic level, with Austin
Branch, Director of Information Operations the DoD, and Air Commodore Ian
Wood, Head at Targeting and Information Operations at UK MoD.

Later in the day, the focus switches to the media and new media, with
speakers including the BBC Security Correpondent, Caroline Wyatt, and Thomas
Elkjer Nissen of the Royal Danish Defence College.

An international forum for the PsyOps, Strategic Communications and
Influence communities, it has developed into the ‘must attend’ event,
allowing key thinkers and decision-makers to share lessons learned, new
policy and concepts and desperately needed on the ground experience for
current and future Information and Influence campaigns.
