NineSigma Partners with LAUNCH to Find Game-Changing Energy Solutions to Support a More Sustainable Future
CLEVELAND, July 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Creating a reliable energy supply that is economically practical, sustainable and socially responsible is one of the greatest challenges facing both developed and developing countries today. LAUNCH has chosen to partner with NineSigma, the leading provider of Open Innovation services, to support a global energy challenge designed to identify and support breakthrough innovations that will transform current electrical energy systems. Through the LAUNCH: Energy Challenge, LAUNCH is seeking entrepreneurial initiatives that are focused on the development of innovative products, services, and programs that can benefit from an association with influential government and business leaders to accelerate their deployment and adoption in both the developed and developing worlds. A portfolio of up to 10 finalists will be selected for support, networking and mentoring.
NineSigma's Request on behalf of LAUNCH, titled Innovative Energy Technologies and Deployment Models for Sustainable Development seeks challenge response submissions from companies (small to large), entrepreneurs, inventors, and non-profit organizations with strong program implementation capacity in Distributed Generation (DG) and MicroGrid systems and/or stand-alone technologies that have the potential to transform energy generation and delivery but require new technologies, business models and deployment programs to scale effectively.
"To meet the economic and environmental demands of the future, transformational energy systems and programs are going to be needed and many of these solutions are going to come from entrepreneurs and innovators. LAUNCH is interested in the game changers," said Victor Friedberg, LAUNCH's Executive Director. "Through NineSigma's unique cross-industry and cross-discipline search capabilities, we are confident we will identify promising new approaches not previously considered."
"We are pleased to be working with LAUNCH and its partners to apply our open innovation experience and proven search methodologies to find the sustainable clean energy technologies that will shape our future," said Dr. Matthew Heim, president of NineSigma.
