mySpoonful Announces July “mySpoonful Band of the Month” Winner: Release The Sunbird
Fans Vote Release The Sunbird as Favorite Artist (July 2011)
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 18, 2011
mySpoonful announced today Release The Sunbird is the winner of the first “mySpoonful Band of the Month” poll. Three times a week, mySpoonful handpicks a single new artist that music fans should know about, and includes a free MP3 for listening or download in their weekly e-newsletters. Ranked #3 on Entertainment Weekly’s “The Must List,” mySpoonful is hitting the national spotlight, and now lets fans engage with their favorite bands by voting for them as the Band of the Month. All band entrants are culled from the mySpoonful artists for that month, and the artist with the most “likes” wins. Release The Sunbird and their new album, Come Back To Us, takes first place in July 2011, and a new poll is now underway for August 2011. The poll begins the first of every month and run through the 15th of the following month. The winner is announced the week of the 15th of the following month.
Release The Sunbird’s debut album, Come Back To Us, was released by Jack Johnson’s label Brushfire Records on July 26, 2011. A new solo project for Zach Rogue, lead singer-songwriter for Rogue Wave, Come Back To Us features sun-kissed, joyful songs that are likely some of the loveliest tunes you’ll hear this year. Release The Sunbird marks a musical departure showcasing a whole new side of Rogue. Following an unexpected trip to Bloomington, Indiana to record with friend Mike Bridavsky, Rogue churned out some of the most remarkable music he’s created to date.
NPR notes, “There’s not a harsh note in the music of Release The Sunbird”¦Come Back To Us”¦ never feels like wallpaper: For all its summery brightness, it remains as sweet as springtime, while still revealing subtle shades of autumnal melancholy.”
As winner of the “mySpoonful Band of the Month” poll, Release the Sunbird receives an additional Featured Artist email announcing them as the winner, promotional tools including a 1-year Pro ShareSquare account and a 6-month SuperSonic subscription to Sonicbids, and an online plaque highlighting them as the people’s choice for that specific month.
