Apple Addresses iPod Nano Complaints

The iPod nano hit stores with a bang four weeks ago, but owners of Apple's latest high tech toy are not as enamored with the MP3 player as industry analysts.
Consumers are complaining about scratched and/or broken screens and one has even set up a Web site, flawedmusicplayer.com, MacWorld reported Wednesday.
Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing Phil Schiller said the broken screen is a vendor quality problem affecting less than 1/10 of 1 percent of the iPod nanos out there right now.
Apple will replace any units with broken screens, he added.
As for the complaint the screen scratches too easily, he said it is made with the same material as the fourth-generation iPod, which has not gotten any complaints about its screens.
Schiller told MacWorld screen scratching is not a widespread issue and suggested iPod nano owners invest in carrying cases to protect their players.
