Apple Computer Unveils Video iPod

California's Apple Computer Co. introduced a video iPod Wednesday with a 2.5-inch color display screen.
The device, which costs $299 for a 30-gigabyte model or $399 for a 60-gigabyte model, will let users watch TV shows from ABC one day after broadcast for $1.99 per show, ad-free. It also plays audio content like earlier versions of iPod do.
The music videos and TV shows will be available on Apple's iTunes Music Store and take 10 to 20 minutes to download.
The new products, which went on sale Wednesday at retail outlets and online, come just days after Apple reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit up four-fold on surging sales of iPod music players and Macintosh personal computers.
Since Apple began selling iPods four years ago, it has sold 28 million of the gadgets.
Also being introduced Wednesday was a new iMac that is thinner than earlier models. It also has a built-in iSight camera with still and video capabilities and a remote control with a 10-foot range for controlling music, photos and video, ZDNet reported.
