Vietnamese President to Attend APEC Summit in South Korea

Hanoi, 14 November: State President Tran Duc Luong will attend the 13th Asian Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Pusan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), on 18-19 November, at the invitation of ROK President Roh Moo-huyn. According to a communique released by the Foreign Ministry on 14 November, President Luong plans to have bilateral contacts with leaders and head delegates of several APEC member economies .

FM Nguyen Dy Nien and Trade Minister Truong Dinh Tuyen, who will join the 17th APEC Inter-Foreign and Economic Ministerial Meeting in Pusan from 15-16 November, are expected to meet with several partners with the aim of accelerating bilateral relations. Vietnam will take on the APEC Presidency in 2006 following the 13th APEC summit.
