Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Launches 'The State of Food and Agriculture, 2005'

-- UNFAO Launches 'The State of Food and Agriculture, 2005' -- Its Most Comprehensive Report on Agricultural Trade Yet on the Eve of the Hong Kong Ministerial Trade Talks

-- Report Analyzes the linkages between Agriculture, Trade, Poverty and Food Security

WHAT: A press conference to launch the Global Agricultural Trade report. The State of Food and Agriculture in 2005 provides answers to questions like: How does agricultural trade reform affect countries at different levels of development? What is the unfinished agenda for agricultural trade policy reform? How can trade work for the poor? The report also contains an overview of the current global agricultural situation, latest on food aid and emergencies, commodity production, prices and indicators. Data on fisheries and forestry are provided as well.
