Forecast of Demand for Oil in 2006

A-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper quoted a notice published in mid- December 2005 by OPEC announcing a forecast of the worldwide demand for oil during 2006. The daily oil demand from OPEC countries is estimated to reach 28 million barrels in 2006, compared to 134,000 barrels in accordance with previous estimations. Also announced was a forecast that the daily demand for oil will increase by 1.9%, to 1.6 million barrels.
