Spirit Airlines Announces New Vice President of Flight Operations

Spirit Airlines, the leading low cost carrier to the Caribbean, today announced Jeffrey D. Carlson as the newest member of its management team.
Carlson joins Spirit as Vice President of Flight Operations and Director of Operations. Carlson, type-rated on the Airbus equipment that Spirit flies, will manage all aspects of flight operations including pilot and flight attendant daily operations and training. As Director of Operations, he will oversee Spirit's relationship with the FAA and be the point of contact for regulatory compliance.
Carlson comes to Spirit from Northwest Airlines where he most recently held the position of Captain/Check Pilot on an Airbus A330. He also held various management positions including Vice President of Flight Operations, Managing Director and Chief Pilot, and Managing Director, Flight Procedures, Training and Standards.
