FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines Cargo Division today announced new 2006 published rates for international, domestic, and trans-border Priority Parcel Service(SM) shipments, and for domestic and trans-border Expedite FS(SM). Published rates for international Expedite FS will remain at 2005 levels.
The new rates are applied on an origin-to-destination basis, determined by market conditions and operational costs on each segment. The 2006 published rates, like those of 2005, do not include fuel or security surcharges, which are assessed separately based on current conditions.
"As we announce new 2006 rates, we also confirm our commitment to bringing increased value to each cargo customer through expansion of our global network and investments in technology," said Spencer Dickinson, Managing Director -- Cargo Marketing for American Airlines. "These integrated improvements assure our customers that we will continue to provide consistent and reliable global solutions for their cargo needs."
American Airlines is the world's largest airline, and provides one of the largest cargo networks in the world, with cargo terminals and interline connections available across the globe.
