Coalition for Luggage Security Questions Savannah Airport Luggage Episode

Posted on: Tuesday, 31 January 2006, 12:00 CST

The Coalition for Luggage Security. After clearing the baggage area at one terminal over a suitcase which didn't clear cursory examination at Savannah - Hilton Head Airport, flights were stopped and passengers leaving and arriving at the airport were delayed or diverted to other flights and airports in another preventable incident of yet another luggage threat. Sound familiar? Once again, American travelers are subjected to fear and inconvenience under the inaccurate protection of an unchecked authority.

"We all appreciate and understand security watching over us. It's when inept security interferes with our lives, and unnecessarily frightens our children and travelers that this coalition pushes harder to make intelligent and somewhat obvious change. When a smoke detector in a piece of luggage can stop so many from getting to where they need to go, we need to step back and ask why," said Richard A. Altomare, Founder and Chairman of the Coalition for Luggage Security, and CEO of Universal Express, Inc. (OTCBB: USXP)

"No luggage - no inspection - no mistakes - no delays. (http://www.usxp.com/securitywp.pdf) Which one of these makes our message difficult to follow? Our message will lead to a reduction in excessive governmental costs, eliminate wasteful time delays and curtail governmental bureaucracy build-ups. The inevitable future of airports without luggage will eliminate danger and delay," concluded Mr. Altomare.
