Midwest Air Group Updates Shareholder Rights Plan
Posted on: Tuesday, 21 February 2006, 18:00 CST
MILWAUKEE, Feb. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Midwest Air Group, Inc. today announced that its Board of Directors has adopted an updated shareholder rights plan intended to protect the rights and interests of the company's shareholders. The updated plan replaces a rights plan with essentially the same terms that was originally adopted in 1996 and expired February 13, 2006. The new plan expires February 15, 2016, unless the rights are redeemed earlier.
"The rights plan is designed to protect shareholder value over the long term and provide fair treatment of our shareholders in the event of a takeover attempt," said Timothy E. Hoeksema, chairman and chief executive officer. He pointed out that the plan is similar to plans adopted by other public companies and is not a response to any specific attempt to acquire the company.
Additional details concerning the shareholder rights plan are contained in a Form 8-K to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
