Data on Air Traffic in the Middle East and the World

Al-Watan newspaper quoted a spokesperson from the European office of IATA, the International Air Traffic Association, who said in early January 2006 that airlines serving the Middle East increased operations in 2005 in relation to those in 2004. Total losses of airlines worldwide came to $6 billion in 2005. Airlines worldwide flew a total of one billion passengers in 2005, compared to nine hundred million in 2004. This came to 5.5 million passengers daily.
