Horizon Air Announces New Nonstop Service From Los Angeles to Central Oregon

Horizon Air today announced it will offer new nonstop service from Los Angeles International Airport to Redmond/Bend in Central Oregon twice daily starting Aug. 1. The route is not currently operated by any other airline.

"These new nonstop flights will strengthen business ties between Southern California and Central Oregon while making it easier for Californians to explore and enjoy Central Oregon's vast recreational and leisure activities," said Dan Russo, Horizon's director of marketing and communications.

To kick off the new service, Horizon is offering a limited special introductory fare of $99 one way on its LAX to Redmond/Bend flights taken between Aug. 1 and Nov. 17, 2006. The new flights will be available for purchase starting Sunday, Feb. 26. The lowest fares on Horizon Air and its sister company, Alaska Airlines, are available at www.horizonair.com or by calling 1-800-547-9308.

The flight time will be only 2 hours and 35 minutes on Horizon's 74-seat Q400s, which have a top cruising speed of 400 mph. Horizon's complimentary inflight service features a variety of snacks and beverages, including Starbucks coffee and Northwest wines and microbrews.

Horizon Air has served Los Angeles since 1999 and currently offers direct service to Arcata/Eureka, Boise, Eugene, Medford, Redding, Reno, and Sun Valley.
