Reduced Verdict Against North American Airlines Accepted By Plaintiff

JAMAICA, N.Y., March 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- North American Airlines, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of World Air Holdings, Inc. , announced today that a post-trial ruling to reduce compensatory and punitive damages to $3.1 million from an original verdict of $12.6 million was accepted on March 14, 2006 by the plaintiff, former North American pilot Randall Otto. California Superior Court judge Robert Freedman had previously ruled on post- trial motions on March 1, 2006 and set a deadline of two weeks for Otto's decision to accept or reject the ruling. A further hearing is scheduled for April 26, 2006 to determine liability for court costs and fees. North American is now free to vigorously pursue its appellate options.
