Mar. 29--BLOOMINGTON -- Three people have been indicted on charges of producing child pornography last year in Bloomington and Peoria, following charges against three others earlier this year.
Brian K. Isaac, 39, listed in one report at a Springfield address, and Douglas M. Evans, 56, of Peoria, and a third man not yet arrested are the latest indicted on federal charges. They are accused of being involved in a group that plied at least six boys and girls 13 to 15 years old with alcohol and marijuana and persuaded them to perform sexual acts in homes and motel rooms in Bloomington and Peoria from December 2004 to December 2005.
Earlier, Tyrone L. Williams, 33, of the 700 block of East Douglas Street, and Sarah L. Smith, 20, of Peoria were arrested on child pornography production charges in mid-February. And Robert L. Williams, 23, already was in prison on a four-year term for a drug conviction when charged in the child pornography case.
A federal indictment says Tyrone Williams maintained digital camera equipment and a computer with an Internet link to distribute the pornography. He used the equipment in his own home and occasionally transported the camera equipment to motel rooms and Evans' home in Peoria to photograph the teens engaged in sexual conduct, the document says.
Tyrone Williams offered the teens marijuana and alcohol, the indictment says. He and Smith encouraged the teenage boys and girls to remove their clothing, allow photos of their exposed bodies and allow photos and video of them engaging in sex acts with the accused men and woman, each other and with other people, the indictment says.
The document indicates Williams distributed the child pornography through his computer.
Bloomington Police spokesman Duane Moss said the case began with an anonymous tip in mid-January. He said the tipster told officers he or she suspected illegal activities involving juveniles, including marijuana use, underage drinking and possible nude photography at Williams' East Douglas Street home.
Moss said police searched the home Jan. 20 and seized items including computer equipment and video and still cameras.
The search warrant came through the U.S. attorney's office, Moss said, and the case was investigated by the Central Illinois Cybercrime Unit. The unit includes federal, Peoria County and Tazewell County prosecutors, Bloomington and Peoria police, the U.S. Secret Service and the FBI.
Moss said authorities are investigating other people and more arrests and indictments could come.
