Apr. 11--A United Airlines jet made an emergency landing at Kansas City International Airport shortly after taking off.
The 737 jet, which had 97 people on board, left Kansas City for Denver at 1:10 p.m. but returned after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit.
It landed 13 minutes later without incident, said KCI spokesman Joe McBride.
Firefighters responded to the incident but found no signs of a fire.
