General Freight Services, Inc. has been named one of Atlanta's 50 fastest-growing privately-held companies by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The publication ranked General Freight number 48 on the 11th annual Pacesetters Award citing the company's significant growth from 2003 through 2005.
To be considered for the Atlanta Business Chronicle's select group of Pacesetters, companies must be privately held, based in metro Atlanta, have 2005 revenues between $1 million and $300 million, and have a two-year growth in sales of more than fifty percent.
"We are pleased to be recognized for this award," said Dan Smith, President and CEO. "Our business model continues to prove successful through varying market conditions and we're in a strong position to continue this positive growth." Smith added, "Our focus on hiring the most talented employees as well as maintaining an aggressive marketing strategy continues to support our growth and superior service to our customers."
This year's Pacesetters were honored at a breakfast and ceremony at the Cobb Galleria Centre with the keynote address by Atlanta Braves General Manager John Schuerholz.
