Highway Projects Will Cause Delays

Apr. 22–Motorists should expect delays of up to half an hour next week – Monday through Friday – on five Northern California highways.

Most of the work is scheduled in the western Sierra Nevada foothills and at higher elevations, near Truckee and Lake Tahoe, in Placer, Nevada, Yuba and Sierra counties.

Click here for more… State Department of Transportation crews will be closing lanes at various times and locations on the following highways:

* Interstate 80: Work will include east-and westbound lane and ramp closures in the Auburn area, between Highway 193 (Newcastle Road) and Ophir Road, from 8 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Also in the Auburn area, between Crother Road and Colfax, there will be east-and westbound lane and ramp closures Monday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. and again from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Eastbound closures will occur between Rollins Lake Road near Colfax and Gold Run, west of Donner Summit, from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

There also will be eastbound lane and shoulder closures from the Haines Road overcrossing, just east of Truckee, to the Nevada-Sierra county line near Farad from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

* Highway 20: Work will stretch 45 miles through Nevada County, from the Yuba County line to I-80. There will be various lane closures in both directions from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. There will be shoulder closures in Nevada County’s Smartsville area, from the Yuba County line to Melody Road, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

* Highway 49: North-and southbound lane closures throughout Yuba and Nevada counties, from the Placer County line to Marysville Road, are planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

* Highway 174: In the Grass Valley area, there will be one-way traffic control from Henderson Street to the eastbound Highway 20 frontage road from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.

* Highway 28: In Kings Beach, on Lake Tahoe’s north shore, there will be east-and westbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday from Estates Drive to Chipmunk Street.
