Frontier Airlines Reports Preliminary Record Traffic for April 2006

DENVER, May 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines today announced preliminary traffic results for April 2006, with a record load factor for the month of April. Revenue passenger miles increased 27.0 percent to 707,660,000 for April 2006 from the same period last year. Available seat miles increased 20.1 percent to 877,436,000 for April 2006 from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor for April 2006 of 80.7 percent, an increase of 4.4 points from April 2005, when the airline reported a load factor of 76.3 percent. The airline carried 738,369 passengers during April 2006, a 30.5 percent increase from April 2005. The airline reported passenger yield of 10.25 cents for the month of April 2006, an increase of 1.1 percent from the same period last year. Its preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (RASM) was 8.27 cents, up .53 cents or 6.8 percent from April 2005. For the month of April 2006, the airline's average length of haul decreased 2.7 percent to 958 miles, compared to the same period last year.
