Man Holds Up Palo Alto Bank in Less Than a Minute

May 7--Palo Alto police are looking for a man who robbed the America California Bank in less than a minute Friday afternoon.
Around 2:40 p.m., the man walked into the bank, at 2390 El Camino Real, and told a teller that he was holding it up, according to police. He jumped over the counter and emptied the cash drawer. He said he had a weapon, but witnesses did not see it.
After he man left the bank, he ran through the parking lot. Police unsuccessfully searched the area, as a Mountain View K-9 unit was brought in to help.
The robber was described as an athletic looking black man with a dark complexion and closely cropped goatee. He is about 20- to 30-years-old. He is 6 feet tall and was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with front pockets, dark pants, and reddish-brown "Top-Sider style shoes" or a low, casual pair with light beige soles.
