Spirit Airlines Reports April 2006 Traffic

Spirit Airlines reports April 2006 traffic. Spirit carried 457,171 passengers, which was 3% less than April 2005. Spirit achieved an 80.5% load factor, which was 3.0% higher than last April. Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) reached 421,421,000 and Available Seat Miles (ASMs) reached 523,226,000.
"This April, we achieved a higher load factor on fewer available seat miles compared to last April which illustrates the terrific customer response to our network strategy," said Ben Baldanza, president and chief operating officer of Spirit Airlines. "As we look toward the busy summer travel season, I'm pleased with the advanced bookings and even more excited about the fall when we will have completed our fleet transition to all Airbus aircraft with the youngest fleet in the Americas!"
