American Airlines AAdvantage Program 25th Anniversary Celebration Continues With Citi/AAdvantage Cards Promotion

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines continues celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the AAdvantage(R) program by teaming with Citi(R) for a special one-day offer. For today only, AAdvantage members who apply and receive a new Citi(R) Platinum Select(R) / AAdvantage(R) MasterCard(R) or CitiBusiness(R) / AAdvantage(R) MasterCard(R) card will earn:

* 25,000 AAdvantage bonus miles after making purchases totaling $250 or more * No annual fee for the first year * A free companion certificate valid for travel on American Airlines throughout the continental U.S.

The offer is only valid for approved applications submitted today, May 18, 2006.

The offer is part of the "25 Deals in 25 Days" celebration that marks the anniversary of the world's first frequent flyer loyalty program established by American Airlines in May 1981.

25 Deals in 25 Days

In addition to the Citi(R) / AAdvantage(R) card offer, American Airlines has launched the first 17 "deals" in the 25th Anniversary Celebration. With the "25 Deals in 25 Days" campaign, American Airlines, a founding member of the global oneworld alliance, will feature a new offer every day -- including bonus miles, sweepstakes and discounts. Below are the daily deals that have been featured at http://www.aadvantage25.com/ since the celebration started May 1; many are still available through the end of May.

May 1 Receive a 25 percent discount on select MileSAAver(SM) awards between the United States and Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii or within the Continental U.S. and Canada. Must book and ticket May 1-31, 2006, and travel Aug. 22-Nov. 8, 2006. May 2 Earn 2,500 bonus miles for each American Airlines AAdvantage Cruise(TM) booked May 2-31, 2006. Enter a sweepstakes in which 25 lucky winners will get a three-night Royal Caribbean cruise for two for the cost of just $25. (There is no purchase required to enter the sweepstakes.) Register for the sweepstakes May 2-31, 2006. May 3 Get a new Citi(R) Platinum Select(R) / AAdvantage MasterCard(R) or CitiBusiness(R) / AAdvantage(R) MasterCard(R) and earn 25,000 AAdvantage bonus miles after using the card for purchases totaling $250 or more. May 4 Earn a mileage bonus and up to 25 percent off rate for qualifying rentals of three days or more including a Saturday night, from Avis. Mileage bonus is 250 miles for every year a customer has been an AAdvantage member. Members must make reservations May 4-31, 2006, and rent by December 31, 2006. May 5 oneworld(R) is offering a chance to win two First Class around the-world tickets, valid for travel on the eight existing oneworld airlines. Members must register May 5-31, 2006. May 6 Earn a 60,000-mile bonus for the purchase of a Lincoln Zephyr May 6-31, 2006. May 7 Members who apply for a CitiMortgage loan May 1-31, 2006, and close by December 31, 2006, can earn the base offer of 1,000 AAdvantage miles per $10,000 in mortgage plus a 25,000-mile bonus. May 8 Marriott Vacation Club International is offering 7,500 AAdvantage miles plus a $100 certificate toward a Hertz car rental for members who purchase a six-day / five-night stay at Marriott's (Hawaii) Ko Olina Beach Club resort for $699. This offer is valid for purchases made May 8-31, 2006. Travel must occur within 15 months of purchase. May 9 AAdvantage eShopping(SM) offered a one-day AAdvantage mileage bonus based on total spending. However, members can continue earning miles for every dollar spent at the AAdvantage eShopping mall at http://www.aadvantageeshopping.com/ . May 10 AAdvantage teamed with National Car Rental to give away a 2007 Pontiac G6 as well as up to 1,250 AAdvantage bonus miles for all AAdvantage members who book a car rental with National at http://www.aadvantage25.com/ . The car rental must be completed by July 31, 2006. May 11 Purchase a Wave(R) Music System from Bose(R) May 11 - 18, 2006 and earn 2,500 bonus miles. Also, enter sweepstakes to win a Lifestyle(R) Home Entertainment System through May 31, 2006. May 12 Earn 25 miles per dollar spent on purchases from FTD.COM May 12 - 31, 2006. May 13 Earn 2,500 bonus miles on Intercontinental(R) Hotels Group stays booked May 13 - June 11, 2006 and completed by Aug. 31, 2006. May 14 Members received a 5-10% discount on AA Vacations packages purchased on May 14, 2006. Members can also enter to win vacation packages to Scottsdale, AZ or Bermuda. Must register for sweepstakes May 14 - 31, 2006. May 15 Earn double the base miles flown on all flights booked May 15-31, 2006. Must register on AA.com prior to travel, and complete travel by Nov. 15, 2006. May 16 First 250 members to purchase on StubHub.com will earn 2,500 bonus miles plus 1 point for every $1 spent. Customers will also be entered to win a "weekend of tickets" in New York City (total of six tickets) plus $1,500 credit for accommodations and 50,000 AAdvantage miles for travel. There is no purchase required to enter the sweepstakes. AAdvantage members can register for the sweepstakes May 1-31, 2006. May 17 Buy an Admirals Club one-day pass on May 17, 2006, and receive a second one-day pass free. There is also a sweepstakes in which 25 lucky winners will win a one-year Admirals Club membership. There is no purchase required to enter the sweepstakes. AAdvantage members can register for the sweepstakes May 17-31, 2006.
