May 18--TOKYO -- Japanese telecom carrier KDDI Corp. and U.S. Internet search engine Google Corp. said Thursday they have teamed up to provide KDDI's "au" mobile phone service customers with Google search services from July.
KDDI will put a Google search window on the top Internet page of mobile phones, allowing users to browse massive Google-covered data, they said.
Softbank Corp., which has recently acquired the Japanese mobile phone network of Britain's Vodafone Group Plc, is reportedly planning to utilize its Yahoo Internet search engine for its mobile phone services.
