WASHINGTON, May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Air Transport Association (ATA), the industry organization representing leading U.S. airlines, today issued the following statement regarding the European Court of Justice's judgment on the validity of a legal framework for the transfer of airline passenger data from the European Union for flights to, from or across United States territory:
"We anticipate that the U.S. government and European authorities will resolve this matter without subjecting airlines to conflicting demands. Because the European Court of Justice's decision does not go into effect until Sept. 30, there is time to do so," said Air Transport Association President and CEO James C. May. "ATA and its members will continue to work closely with governmental authorities to find a practical solution to this issue."
