May 22--THE PROBLEM
Dory Tarlow contacted the Sun-Sentinel, concerned about missing street signs at roundabouts in Pompano Beach. Tarlow, who volunteers at the Broward Children's Center Respite Home, said the signs are "sorely missed" by people trying to find the Respite Home, at 605 NE 12th Ave.
THE BACK STORY
The signs, destroyed by Hurricane Wilma last fall, are missing at the roundabouts on Northeast 11th Avenue at Northeast Fourth and Sixth streets. People have been missing the turn to the Respite Home, a nonprofit that provides medical, educational and therapeutic services for children with special needs.
WHO CAN FIX THIS
Greg Lovaglio, sign superintendent of Broward County Traffic Engineering Division, said the signs were replaced Friday afternoon, the same day the Sun-Sentinel called about the problem. Tarlow said she was happy to see the sign at Sixth Street on Friday.
UPDATE
Solved: Metal removed from tree at Southwest 15th Street in Fort Lauderdale.
Who fixed this: Ted Lawson, city spokesman.
