May 30–WEST PALM BEACH — An 83-year-old woman was killed Monday morning after crashing her car into a parked landscaping truck, police said, and in Jupiter a 36-year-old man died when his car hit a fence on A1A.

Police spokesman Ted White said the West Palm Beach accident occurred at 8:41 a.m. inside the RiverWalk community while Marian Reith was traveling east in her 2003 Mercedes. The car struck the rear of the Dolphin Landscape truck, which was parked on the road with it’s hazard lights flashing. The impact shattered the car’s window and ripped the front passenger-side tire off its axle.

Reith died at the scene. She was not wearing a seartbelt, he said.

The cause of death is pending because investigators do not know if Reith had some sort of medical condition or was looking elsewhere when the car veered into the vehicle, White said.

All three employees were out of the vehicle at the time of the crash and were not injured. They do not face any charges, White said.

In Jupiter, police said officers investigating a 3:40 a.m. crash were called to Carlin Park, 400 South A1A, around 3:40 a.m. and found Craig A. Doane inside a car. They said Doane was driving north when he apparently lost control of his 1996 Chevrolet and crashed into a fence at the park. He died at the scene.
