Spirit Airlines reports May 2006 traffic. Spirit carried 381,462 passengers, which was 5.8% less than May 2005. Spirit achieved an 81.8% load factor, which was 0.8% lower than last May. Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) reached 341,073,000 and Available Seat Miles (ASMs) reached 416,859,000.
"I'm more than pleased with our May results," said Ben Baldanza, president and chief executive officer of Spirit Airlines. "May brought us our 29th city, San Francisco, as well as strong traffic throughout the system. The busy summer travel season is upon us and despite record high fuel prices, bookings are very strong as customers are choosing Spirit for their travel plans."
