Axesstel Announces First Commercial Shipments of GSM Fixed Wireless Phones to Telefonica Moviles Guatemala; Axesstel Expands Addressable Market With Entree into GSM

Axesstel, Inc. (AMEX:AFT), a leader in the design and development of fixed wireless voice and broadband data products, today announced it has received a purchase order from Telefonica Moviles Guatemala, the largest wireless service provider in Guatemala, for its PG210 GSM Fixed Wireless Desktop Phone. Telefonica Moviles Guatemala will offer the phones in conjunction with a nationwide expansion of its Global System for Mobile (GSM) network to make quality, affordable voice services available to consumers in urban and rural areas throughout Guatemala. Axesstel has begun first commercial shipments of the PG210 to Telefonica Moviles Guatemala and the phones are scheduled to be available in Telefonica Moviles retail stores and through its broad network of authorized resellers in Guatemala by the end of June.

Telefonica Moviles Guatemala is a subsidiary of Telefonica Moviles which operates all of Group Telefonica's wireless assets. Telefonica Group has a total subscriber base of more than 180 million (over 100 million are cellular) and has network coverage in 19 countries, 13 of which are in Latin America. Telefonica Moviles Guatemala operates under the Movistar brand name, currently has over 1.2 million subscribers and is in the process of expanding its GSM network coverage to raise service capacity nationwide in Guatemala.

The Axesstel PG210 is a dual band (850/1900 MHz) fixed wireless desktop phone with a durable, dust-resistant dial pad designed for virtually any environment. The PG210 enables high-quality voice calling over GSM networks with enhanced calling features, including hands-free dialing, call waiting, call forwarding, 3-way calling, and caller ID. Subscribers can also use the PG210 to quickly send and receive text messages using the multi-lingual menu, currently available in English, Portuguese and Spanish. An internal lithium-ion battery is fast charging and ensures high reliability.

Axesstel is currently in development of the PG220 dual-band (900/1800 MHz) GSM fixed wireless desktop phone for markets in Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Middle East. The PG220 is scheduled for availability in the fourth quarter of 2006.
